I genuinely think I couldn’t have taken an unflattering photo of Anne & Alex if I’d tried. They were such naturals at posing and smiling that I felt as if I were working with professional models who just happened to be getting married. From the Stone Arch Bridge, to the St. Anthony Main area and beyond, they nailed every shot and left me seriously looking forward their October wedding.
Rachel & Ivan were married in the majestic Cathedral of St Paul and celebrated later with a lively multi-cultural reception at Chateau Lamothe in Burnsville. As you can see in the small sampling of photos here, there was absolutely no shortage of enthusiasm and good humor, both for the happy couple and the invited guests!
Donna & TJ were eager for an urban ‘cityscape’ feel to their engagement photos so that guests at their wedding next July traveling from rural locations could see something of the manmade beauty of the Twin Cities. After doing extensive scouting, I settled on a location on the east side of the river that would let us shoot on the Stone Arch Bridge, as well as in front of the magnificently dilapidated old flour mills that still line the river.
Your wedding day can be exhausting, and throwing a 14 month-old curious little boy into the mix could make things even more challenging, unless the couple is Christa & Tom, and the boy is their adorable Danny! Christa & Tom got married near the Turtle Fountain in the Rose Garden just south of Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. Danny looked sharp in his toddler’s tux, and watched happily as his Mom & Dad exchanged their vows. The reception at Elsie’s in NE Minneapolis was a lively affair, and kept Danny up way past his bedtime! It was an absolute joy to shoot engagement photos for Rachel & Ivan on a recent misty morning in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. As they get ready for an October wedding at the St. Paul Cathedral, Rachel & Ivan were more than easy to work with, and made lots of fun suggestions about poses. All of that smiling and laughing you see is real!
